The New Zealand Arapawa Goat Association
( NZAGA )
The New Zealand Arapawa Goat Association (NZAGA) is made up of a group of people from around the world who are dedicated to the preservation and well-being of this beautiful, rare and critically at-risk breed of small goat.
With fewer than 500 recorded worldwide, these goats are on the brink of extinction.
The NZAGA aims to raise awareness about the breed and its limited population, we are passionate about the survival and welfare of this unique breed that many consider, the rarest goat in the world.
The first organization to be specifically formed to further the interests of Arapawa goats was Arapawa Goat Breeders – USA. This was followed in 2008 by the International Arapawa Goat Association with breeders in North America, Great Britain and New Zealand, and in 2011 by the New Zealand Arapawa Goat Association, each having its own website. In 2013 the International Association merged with the New Zealand one, and now operate this website.
